Chimney repair in Omaha — from loose brick to full rebuilds.

Your chimney takes more weather than any other masonry on the house — from all four sides, all year. We repoint washed-out joints, repair crowns and caps, and when a chimney is past saving, we tear it down to sound brick and rebuild it right. The photos below are our own rebuild, start to finish.

The most exposed brick on your house deserves a specialist's eye.

Chimneys fail from the top down: the crown cracks, water gets into the top courses, freeze-thaw pops the joints, and brick starts letting go. From the ground it looks fine until chunks show up in the yard or the flashing starts leaking into the attic. We inspect the whole stack — crown, cap, joints, flashing line and brick — and give you a straight answer on repair vs. rebuild.

A Google reviewer summed up the experience: "Jake was fantastic. Responsive, understood scope of project (chimney repair) and provided an accurate timeline." That's the job: clear scope, accurate timeline, done once.

What's included

  • Chimney tuckpointing — washed-out joints ground and repointed with color-matched mortar
  • Crown repair & sealing — the concrete top that sheds water (or lets it in)
  • Partial & full rebuilds — deteriorated courses torn down to sound brick and relaid
  • Cap & screen installation — keep water, critters and downdrafts out
  • Brick replacement — spalled units swapped for matching brick
  • Safe access & clean sites — proper scaffold work, roof protected, site left clean

When to call

  • Brick chips or mortar pieces appearing in the yard
  • White staining or damp patches on the chimney after rain
  • Cracked or crumbling crown visible from the ground or a drone photo
  • Water stains on ceilings or in the attic near the chimney

Good to know

Straight answers before you call.

Repair or rebuild — how do you decide?
If the brick is sound and the damage is in the joints and crown, tuckpointing and crown work save it for a fraction of a rebuild. If the top courses are shattered or the stack is leaning, we tear down to sound brick and rebuild. We'll show you photos of exactly what we find and price both honestly.
How much does chimney repair cost in Omaha?
It ranges enormously — resealing a crown is a different job than rebuilding ten courses — so we don't quote blind. We inspect for free, show you photos of what we found, and give you a written estimate; what we quote is what we bill. Catching it before winter is the biggest cost-saver there is.
Do I need a chimney cap?
Almost certainly. An uncapped flue funnels rain straight into the chimney's core every storm, and it's the cheapest component on the whole stack. We install caps and screens with every rebuild and on request.
When is the best time for chimney work in Omaha?
Spring through fall — mortar needs above-freezing temperatures to cure properly. If you spotted damage this winter, get on the schedule early; every freeze-thaw cycle makes it a little worse.
Will the rebuilt chimney match my house?
Yes — we reuse sound original brick where possible and source matching units where we can't, with mortar color-matched to the rest of the house.
